Class Sessions

Classes begin the first Thursday after Labor Day.  Thereafter, the program will be open on Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.  The Shawnee Mission School District calendar is observed at winter break, spring break, and in case of “snow days”.

 

Curriculum:

A variety of age appropriate music, art, literature, and play activities is offered daily.  The children may participate in individual and group projects; quiet times and active play.  The fenced playground provides opportunities for gross motor development and imaginative play.  An indoor playroom is available in case of inclement weather.

Supplies:

Each child will bring his or her own lunch including a drink in a standard size lunch box.  Please label all items with child’s name.  This includes cup, thermos, bottles, diaper bag, and sheet.  Children in the nursery will need a fitted crib sheet, disposable diapers, and a change of clothing.  Older children will need a flat, twin- size sheet and a change of clothing, including socks.
